Bajaj Auto Ltd. Introduce More Racing Bikes In India

Bajaj Auto launched its premium motorcycle Duke 390cc - the second variant under the Bajaj-KTM partnership in Kolkata.

At the launch, the company said it has drawn up plans to launch more racing bikes for Indian roads in the coming years.

"Bajaj-KTM will launch two variants of the RC brand of 'faired' racing bikes in the calendar year 2014 under the sub-500 cc category," said Amit Nandi, Vice-President of Bajaj Pro biking.

Faired racing bikes, as opposed to nude ones, have engines covered for better aerodynamics at high speed.

Nandi said that the company sold around 8,000 units of KTM bikes in the last financial year in India.

He said that around 25,000 units were exported to Europe, Latin America and South East Asia. "The small displacement KTM bikes were being manufactured at Pune plant and sold globally."

Nandi said racing bikes were the fastest growing segment in the two-wheeler space.

He said the company was looking at 10 per cent growth in the racing category in the current fiscal.

Honda launches Dream Neo at Rs. 46,140

Honda claims the Dream Neo will deliver a fuel efficiency of 74kmpl.

"Dream Neo is Honda's next big leap towards creating deep inroads into the Indian commuter segment. We are confident of demand for Honda two wheelers and eye 43 per cent growth with 39.3 lakh unit sales this fiscal," Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India Ltd (HMSI) Vice President for Sales and Marketing Y S Guleria said at the launch.

Backed by the new product launches and network expansion, Honda aims to grow over 150 per cent in 100-110cc motorcycle segment year-on-year, he said HMSI will be expanding its sales outlets to about 2,500 by end of this fiscal from 1,950 in the previous fiscal.

Developed specifically for the Indian customers, the new entry-level 'Dream' series motorcycle is powered by a 110 cc engine and the company claims that it will give a mileage of 74 kilometer per liter of petrol.

Honda CBR 250R bike launched!!

New Delhi: Honda launched a new bike CBR 250R priced between Rs 1.56 lakh and Rs 1.86 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).

The 2013 edition CBR 250R is available for sale across all Honda exclusive authorized dealerships starting at the end of this month.

"We have enhanced the aesthetic appeal of CBR250R by introducing four new coluors catering to expectations of Indian racing fanatics," HMSI Vice President (Sales & Marketing) Y S Guleria said.
