Petrol price hiked again, fourth time in six weeks.

According to PTI reports, oil companies hiked the price of petrol by Rs 1.55 per litre, without taxes. The price of diesel was kept unchanged.


Petrol price hiked again, fourth time in a span of six weeks. The petrol price on Sunday has been is hiked by Rs 1.55 a litre, excluding taxes. The new rates will become effective from Sunday midnight, the first increase in rates this month.

With effect from July 16, petrol will cost Rs 1.55 more before taxes. Actual increase will be higher and will vary from city to city depending on local taxes.

As per practice of re-evaluating rates every fortnight, the inevitable price hike was due tomorrow, but has come in effect a day in advance. However, diesel prices will not be hiked now as the revision in its rates is due at the month end.
