Eicher Motors aims at 15% of total sales through export within 5 years

VE Commercial Vehicles (VECV) has decided to increase export with the introduction of its Pro Series of products, aiming at capturing 15% of its total sales through overseas markets within 5 years. As a joint venture between Volvo Group and Eicher Motors, the company has concluded to expand the export of Eicher brand in commercial vehicles by leveraging on the distribution network of Volvo in Africa, South East and Middle East Asia.

However, as per company sources, there is no scope for Eicher to be taken to developed markets as it is supposed to remain affordable despite of being taken to volumes market with modern technology.

The company is also keen in entering left hand drive markets. After capturing 8.1% of its total sales in 2013 for the export of 3,300 trucks and buses, it now wants to go beyond Bangladesh, Shri Lanka, Tanzania, Kenya, Ivory Coast and Ghana to enhance exports.
