Tata Motors rolls out 10 trucks under ‘Prima’ brand

With an aim to tap the mutiaxle segment of trucks industry that accounts for 65% of sales in India, Tata Motors launched its range of ten low-priced trucks under its Prima brand.   

The new range, named Prima LX, incorporates 6 heavy trucks for haulage segment and 4 trucks for construction purpose. It is 20% cheaper in comparison to the Prima range and produced at the company’s Jamshedpur plant. 
The new range is priced between Rs 18.5 lakh to Rs 32.5 lakh and with its addition the company aims at increasing its market share in medium and heavy duty trucks which is generally between 64-67%.

In the upcoming three years, the LX range is expected to account for 10-15% of the company’s truck business.
