How Can We Buy a Used Car in India?

Over years, we have seen automobile industry enhancing its horizon to a great extent. Despite of new launches, every year, pre-owned segment of the industry is also gaining pace through structured platforms for trade. The major factor that contributes in people’s preference for used cars in India is price. Cost of new cars is always comparatively lower than the new ones. Pre-owned cars serve you an opportunity to enjoy luxury while investing less amount of money. Apart from all the positive aspects of pre-owned cars, there is a major drawback in dealing with such cases and that is risk. Instead of brand name, present condition of the vehicle contributes in your decision. Hence, one needs to extremely cautious while purchasing a used car. Let’s take a look at how we can do this without incurring any loss.

·      While you choose your pre-owned car, always opt for the latest option. Many a times, people just sell their nearly new cars a few months later to the purchase. In such a scenario, the warranty of those cars does not expire and gets transferred to the new owner. That will certainly contribute in peace of mind after you own it.
·         The best way to reduce the level of risk involved in such transactions is proper research on used car before finalising the deal. This way you get an assurance of your flawless journey with the used car ahead.

What to Look Out for in a Used Vehicle

The purchase of used vehicles involves a lot of risk. In this case, an owner’s maintenance capability is considered more in comparison to the name of a brand. People with very little knowledge of technical aspect, generally, end up buying a used vehicle on the basis of its looks. Various other aspects are completely ignored when a good looking vehicle stands in front us. But in long run, this practice serves no purpose. It will never result in a long term association with the pre-owned vehicle. Here are some of the points that must be kept in mind while purchasing a pre-owned vehicle. Let’s take a look at them.
·         Condition of Parts
It is counted as the first criterion in the entire selection process. If the vehicle’s parts are not in good shape, you will certainly have to get them repaired later. Buying a vehicle for getting it repaired is not at all a great idea. The deal will never be profitable. So, don’t forget to look for bent cranks, buckled wheels or worn tyres as their repair will be a big burden on your pocket.
·         Check if its stolen
The purchase of a stolen vehicle is counted as a crime. Make sure that the vehicle you are about to buy is well-researched in this aspect.
·         Cost
The main deciding factor in buying a used vehicle is its cost, which is calculated majorly on the basis of its parts’ condition. Make, sure that both the aspects complement each other.

SAMIL serves a wide variety of used vehicles and equipment through its various bidding platforms. It stands as pioneer in giving the most structured platforms for trading used vehicles in India.

“In the arena of used vehicles and equipment in India, SAMIL has always aspired to deliver credibility along with a wide range of options. With transparency, the company will continue its journey towards great heights.” -  Mr. Sameer Malhotra

How to Buy a Used Bike

Buying used bikes in India can be an extremely risky task for people, with little knowledge on the trends in automobile industry. This kind of information always results in deals, highly inclined towards looks. After getting attracted to the good looking pre-owned bike, people hardly look at the other aspects to be kept in mind while buying a second-hand bike. But, this practice is not fruitful to spend a long time with a used bike. Apart from the appearance, one should also consider its other aspects that contribute in its better performance.
This first criterion in the selection of a pre-owned bike is to look at the condition of its various parts. If you have to get it repaired after the purchase, it will result in a completely non-profitable deal. So, look out for the buckled wheels, bent cranks or worn tyres before buying your second-hand bike as they require a big pocket for repair.
A bike, suspected to be stolen, always results in criminal dealings. This mean, if you buy such second-hand bike it will be considered as a crime. Hence, before you make a purchase of used bike, do proper research on its history.
To measure the condition of a second-hand bike, check the state of its tyres, wheels, brakes, headset, chain, chainwheel, sprockets, pedals, handlebars, saddle, and many more. This will certainly help you in deciding the total worth of that bike. Also, it will serve as a base for deciding if that particular used bike is worth buying or not.

In order to serve excellence in the automobile industry, Shriram Automall India Limited (SAMIL) has always offered quality options in its every segment. The close association of some incredible names in the industry has always paved way for serving credibility in the form of pre-owned bikes.

“While walking steadily towards a single destiny of immense growth, we have followed the road of transparency and authenticity. And, this is how we aim at diversifying ourselves in the automobile industry” – Mr. Sameer Malhotra

2013 : A year of hope for the future.

This year from January to November, car sales in India fell by 10.32% to 16,74,450 units as against 18,67,176 units in the same period last year.
Besides cars, the commercial vehicles segment was also a bad hit with economic activities such as mining and infrastructure projects came to a near halt.

It led to SIAM to seek stimulus package for the sector from the government but in vain.

This year turned out to be a tough year, but the auto industry, however, has not given up hopes. It is desperately looking to come out of the slowdown and the Auto Expo, scheduled to be held in February next year, will be the perfect platform to make a comeback.
