Time for Used Car Safety Tips

Here Come’s the Monsoon!

We all stand in the mid of 2014 and monsoons are soon expected to drench the roads. With those tiny droplets of water, the entire city is going to experience the most amazing phase of the year. But, what about the wheels on road! Well, it’s time for them to tighten their grip and hold onto the road as they might witness a slippery phase of their life.

The onset of a monsoon season is quite an alarming period for used cars, especially. A need for their repair mostly arises during this phase only. So, here are some safety tips for used cars during monsoon.
·         Before you take your used car out for a drive in rain, make sure its tyres, wipers and brakes are working properly. Good visibility in rain is possible only through good quality wipers, which are often neglected by people. Get them repaired even in the slightest of doubt.
·          Next, check the tyres of your used car. They should neither be over inflated not under inflated.
·         Always carry a safety tool kit in your used car. It must incorporate a first-aid, torches, umbrella, basic medicines, etc.
If your used car demands some repair, then do not forget to visit the nearest Automall of Shriram Automall India Limited (SAMIL). Get your car refurbished and take it on a long drive in rain.

“As a complete solution provider, we at SAMIL provide a plethora of services related to used vehicles and equipment under a single roof. Our refurbishment services are an initiative towards giving a new life to the vehicles in order to enhance their market value.” – Mr. Sameer Malhotra, CEO of SAMIL

It’s times to realise your dream of owning a car

Buying a car was always a dream for me since childhood as I belonged to a middle-class family. I clearly remember those days, when my dad used to travel by bus every day. In fact, I had also travelled with him by bus many a times. While travelling, I always used to prefer window seat and wonder how comfortable journeys would have been for people travelling in a car. Whenever I used to ask my dad about when we were going to purchase a car, his answer always revealed that money was a big constraint which kept us away from purchasing it. But, that desire always remained in my heart. And, now when I aspire to realise that dream, money still remains an issue for us.

This problem was soon sorted when I came to know about Shriram Automall through a friend. I shared my problem with him and he took me to one of the physical bidding locations of company. I was simply amazed to see a wide range of used cars that the company had within the premises of its Automall. And, the best part about acquiring a car from there was transparency that the company maintained in its deals. We all know that buying a used car in India is big risk for people. But, when I saw everything at Shriram Automall, automatically the trust developed. The company also provides loan on used cars through its parent company, STFC. Now, I feel anyone can realise his/her dream of owning a car through this platform without any issue.

Shriram Automall India Limited (SAMIL) has set up various Automalls across the nation in order to serve the wheeling dreams of people. It provides a wide variety of used vehicles and equipment on different bidding platforms, like Physical Bidding, Online Bidding, One Stop Classified and Private Treaty.

Used cars showcase stronger growth in current fiscal

The pre-owned segment of cars is expected to showcase a growth by 15-18% in this financial year. Within this segment, the organised sector is witnessing a growth by 40% annually. At present, 15% of transactions take place in the organised sector of pre-owned cars; rest of the transactions takes place in unorganised market.

The next five years in automobile industry are going to observe double size for used cars market in comparison to the new cars. And, that means the pre-owned segment of cars will carry out a sale of 5 million units per annum by 2019/2020.

Reasons for growth
•  A strong growth of around 14% from 2007-08 to 2011-12 in new car segment, which further lead to huge used cars’ inventory
•  Change in consumer behaviour with reference to vehicle ownership. The duration of 5-8 years before replacement has gone down to 3-4 years.
•  Decrease in the difference between diesel and petrol prices has enhanced demand for pre-owned diesel vehicles.
•  A low population of pre-owned diesel cars

At present, around 2.5 million pre-owned vehicles are disposed in a year which takes the value of industry to over Rs. 40,000 crores.

Don’t think much, simply go for used cars!

When it’s about used cars, one cannot just depend on the first option for purchase. Obviously, a lot market research goes into the task in order to realise best out of the money. A better understanding of the vehicle and various other options available in the market helps in making a better decision which leaves no scope for regret in future. The latest trend in used cars market in India

With a great demand generating in , the new cars market has taken a back seat. Due to more awareness amongst people about every latest trend in used cars market, this sector of automobile industry is booming at a fast pace.

The current scenario in automobile industry showcases a great demand for used cars in India. On comparing them with new cars, graph appears to shift more towards used cars in India. That is because; people now have more clarity in terms of used cars market. Today, this business is getting shaped into a structured format with major players conceptualizing well organised platforms to carry out their operations.

In India, a major section of the population prefers used cars over new ones. If we look into a scenario in which a nearly new car is compared with its same version in absolutely new car category, definitely the choice will bend towards the used one. This is because; the second hand car is already loaded with the same features and functions and its price is also less than the new version. In such a case, a person will always go for the pre-owned version.

An Insight into Used Cars in India

How many cars on roads are new cars? Well, the question is tricky but the answer is very simple. Almost 100% cars on Indian roads are used cars. That’s because, once a car is driven off from the dealership store, it loses its value. Keeping the market scenario into consideration, used cars in India have won the race over new cars. There are various advantages in going for pre-owned cars. That’s why I prefer them over new ones. Let me share some tips on the purchase of used cars in India with reference to my recent experience in the same.

  • Decide your budget
Once you have made up your mind to purchase a used car, decide your budget. In case of buying a pre-owned car, it is not necessary that you need money for just purchasing it. There are chances that you may have to spend some extra amount on its repairs. So, include such expenses in your budget.

  • Market Research
After getting sorted with the budget, do a research on what all options are available in the market for used cars. You can also get associated with some companies that offers used vehicles. For my second hand car, I got associated with Shriram Automall India Limited. It was an extremely satisfying experience in every aspect.

  • Check condition and price
While selecting your second hand car, make sure that it is in an apt condition to ride on roads. Also, check its price as per the market trend. Do not arrive at a decision before being sure about every aspect, so that you don’t regret in future.

The market of used cars in India is facing a remarkable growth in comparison to the new ones. And, this trend is aptly justified by a lower sales figure for new cars along with higher discount rates. In such a scenario, government makes its contribution towards demand generation by cutting down excise duty. But if we look at the state of used cars in India, the market is booming at a significant pace.
While discovering an opportunity in the same segment, Shriram Automall India Limited (SAMIL) facilitates the trade of used cars in India. Through its transparent and organised bidding platforms, including Physical Bidding, Online Bidding, Private Treaty and One Stop Classified, SAMIL brings the buyers and sellers together from around the country. Its recent initiative, Auto, is exclusively dedicated to used cars in India. Various manufacturers and their dealers, like TATA, GM, TOYOTA, have been associated with the company to dispose their exchanged, trade-in cars, unregistered, demo and display cars. While taking these associations further, SAMIL has conducted several physical bidding events in different locations, such as Mysore, Mangalore, Bengaluru, Delhi, Hubli, Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, Calicut, Vijayawada, Raipur and Nagpur. The success ratio of these events is justified by its aggressive marketing strategies that go into the execution process. Through innovative promotional activities, it attracts a wide range of audience in its events. Keeping the aspirations of target audience in mind, every communication is designed effectively to mainly attract the end-users of used cars in India. By scheduling these exclusive events only on the weekends, the company enhances the footfall to a great extent. As a result, its every event becomes immensely prominent amongst potential buyers.
Apart from physical bidding, SAMIL ensures maximum certainty of sales through its other bidding platforms. This scenario has contributed immensely in grasping demand for used cars in India from that segment of the society and SAMIL is going to serve that demand with its growing steps towards pre-owned cars market in India.

Used Merc demand equals new car

As per recent market trends, the demand for used Mercedes has now become equal to the demand for new luxury cars. The cost of a new Skoda is 16-17 lakh and a used Mercedes Benz C Class is also available at the same price. In such a scenario, most of the people prefer to go for the latter option. 3-4 year old Audi A4, BMW 3 Series and Mercedes Benz C Class are counted in the best seller’s category and are available in the price range of 15-20 lakh. The 2008 model of Benz C Class in petrol version is of 12 lakh at present.

According to industry officials, the pre-owned luxury car market is estimated to be around 30,000 units per year. The market scenario is same for new luxury cars as well.

“People are changing their cars quite fast these days,” an Audi spokesperson said. BMW did not respond to HT’s request for a comment. Vinay Sanghi, chief of online car sales firm Cartrade, which is connected to 1,200 used car dealers across India, said most luxury car owners change their vehicles in three years, leading to a large supply of these cars in the second hand market.
Cartrade estimates the market for second-hand luxury cars to be about 30,000 units per year — the same as the market for new luxury cars. Most people HT spoke to said this estimate was largely accurate. “There is huge demand for used luxury cars that we can’t cater to,” said Yatin Chadha, senior V-P, Mahindra First Choice, largest seller of used cars in India. It recently opened its first showroom exclusively for used luxury cars in Gurgaon.
That demand was met by the unorganised sector. And as the market for luxury cars grows, the used car market is expected to grow in tandem.

NEED OF PRE-OWNED CARS

Cars, now, in any country are indispensable. Work has enlarged and so is the root for movement from one place to another. Now, more and more people are getting financially independent escalating the demand. Women too are learning to drive and gaining financial independence to do their own everyday jobs. This again is swelling the demand for pre-owned cars.

 used cars in India

When a buyer can get a car in good condition for a price one –third less as compared with a new one, there is something to be said for buying a pre-owned car. The availability of many good internationally acclaimed cars on the Indian roads has added to the charisma of owning a car, be it even a pre-owned car.

The rapid growth of the organized pre-owned car dealers, the market for old vehicles continues to be dominated by individuals trying to sell and buy cars. In the testimony to the growing market of pre owned cars, its authenticity should be carefully checked. Wider selection and ready availability of car loans is driving the Indian pre-owned car market.

The process of buying a pre-owned car can be fruitful and risk free, if you take the necessary precautions and opt for buying certified pre-owned car.

Buying a used car? Here's what to look out for

New Delhi: The used car market in India is still largely unorganised. Although most major auto companies now offer certified used cars, most of the transactions still take place in the open market.

Maruti, Hyundai, General Motors, Toyota, Tata Motors, Mahindra & Mahindra etc. all sell certified used cars complete with warranty, not just from their own stable but across brands.

There are different stages of checking and testing that these cars undergo, before being certified by the companies.

However, because these cars go through rigorous testing, the companies charge much more than what the neighbourhood used-car dealer would.

There are also cars sold by these auto companies, without the certifications and the warranty, which cost substantially less, but they would still be more expensive than the dealer operating in the unorganised sector.
There's no reason to be too wary about the unorganised sector, as many a time you can pick up a great deal from there.

Buying a second-hand car is not a bad idea, but if you have the means, most people would suggest you go for a new car- simply because of the fact that there are less hassles involved. A new car is unlikely to give any trouble in the first three odd years at least.
Even if a car is in mint-condition, and has only run a few months or a few miles, it will attract a price much less that its original price, while being sold, because it is a depreciating asset. It is a good idea to keep a lookout for such deals while buying a used car.

"If you buy a new car for around Rs. 10 lakh and want to to sell it off immediately, you can easily shave off a lakh (Rs. 1 lakh)," says auto expert Tutu Dhawan.
The more premium and high-end the car, the better a deal the new buyer stands to get, opines Mr Dhawan.
For cars within the Rs. 5 lakh bracket, Rs. 50,000 can easily be discounted if it is being sold off in a month or two, he says.

SHRIRAM AUTOMALL TO EMERGE AS A CENTER FOR USED CARS

Indian automobile second hand market is booming as people from all over the world are attracted towards the used cars. With the improved quality of used cars in India and wider selection, greater acceptance for the used cars among the customers is observed.

Pre–owned car dealers are more in demand in this financial year in contrast to the new car dealers. New car sales have witnessed a great dip due to the resilient slowdown of economy. Car buyers in India are extremely price sensitive. Fresh new cars attracts huge amount and empties one pocket. The acquisition cost is also very high as compared to used cars, excise duty and road taxes have increased which in turn makes the used cars a good value for money.

Pre-owned cars purchased from the reliable source is a must, one need to keep in mind to make deals in the used cars segment intelligently as what you get is a used car converted into a new car that is optimized for trouble-free performance and needs minimum maintenance.

The figures are estimated to be 1:1 for every one new car, one pre -owned car is sold.

Used cars have always been in demand and with each year passing by, the future of used cars seems to see no dull moment.

Mr. Sameer Malhotra CEO of Shriram Automall said, “their effort lies in setting the thrust for the owners to dispose off their used cars and at the same time, empowered the small fleet owners to fuel their entrepreneurial ambitions by acquiring the used cars.”

USED CAR BUYING TREND

Cars as a status marker
Clinging on to the glitters of the society, cars and bikes continue to be the deciding instruments for defining class and social status of an individual. Wrapped in luxury, Gen Y flaunts a long romance with exquisite samples of cars and bikes – that claims to be an opulent charm of the nation. With the onset of some exquisite models invading in India, innumerable galleries get dressed up in an array of luxury and it is quite easy to understand why those gorgeous wheels mesmerize the futuristic air of the era.

Gen-y enthusiasts
Trimming aspirations to the basic consoles is not the option for Gen Y, to whom owning a car is more a status quotient.  For enthusiasts bearing finer tastes in terms of vehicle performance and other technological specifications, vehicle is more a lifestyle choice. While debuts in the market influence the core preference of the alike mass, innovative hybrids are also among the fascinating counts. Frenzied lovers seem to pen down cars and bikes with stupendous performance to their wish list, as they aspire to own one.

Reasons for inclination to used cars

Today, vehicles represent an ode to the most intricate craftsmanship. However, strivers who wish to add a bit of dash to their regular lifestyle and amp up social status quotient are among the go getterzzz… as a crusader of culture. While the desire to own a strong player persists in the minds, they may have to compromise on the note of monetary implications. Also, the alike-minded youth are mostly among the first time drivers for such cars, who aren’t really having their hands set on the steering. Hence the obvious inclination falls towards pre owned vehicles, which solely contributes to an equally high demand on the market for used cars in India.

PASSENGER VEHICLES MARKET IN INDIA

India shows a highly potential market for passenger vehicles. While owing a vehicle is considered a mandatory affair in India, the market for the same witnesses a major inflow of demand. Apparent economic slowdown might have obstructed the flourish of business from time to time, but the market has seen a reinvention of scopes in favorable economic background. The surge in the demand for passenger vehicles has often climbed up to a much considerable height, consecutively drawing the interests of manufacturers, investors and dealers of countries beyond Indian terrain.

With a hike in the demand of passenger vehicle in India, there has been a wide spread in the availability of powerful models that excel in terms of performance and appearance. While such cars are increasing in count, they leave a sheer alluring impact to the target customers in the market. However, the sale of a brand new passenger vehicle may vary owing to the diversity in the nation’s economic graph. The inevitable reasons behind a negative impulse in case of purchasing a brand new passenger car can be the high inflation and interest rates at a background of economic downtrend and uncertainty in the job market. Hence, quite likely people turn to purchasing second hand, pre-owned passenger vehicles.

Shriram Automall India Limited makes car trading easy for the buyers and the sellers by offering a reliable bidding platform. The company has been dealing in used vehicles, farm/agricultural equipment and machinery for a long time. At present the entity is dealing in passenger vehicles, 2 wheelers, 3 wheelers etc. The company has received a lot of positive feedback already and many successful events have taken place with big manufacturers as well. Interested people can log in to the SAMIL’s official website http://bids.samil.in for more information about acquisition and disposal of used cars.

How to sell a used car?

India has a great potential market for used vehicles. While buyers are many, the count of sellers isn't also lagging behind. However, to sell a used cars, certain diplomatic and to a little extent manipulative approach needs to be followed.

The first and foremost priority that needs to be taken care of is to enlist all the positive aspects of the car that you are attempting to sell. The vehicle may be too old but may just feature some of the best performances. Make sure you highlight these to promote your product for sale.

If the positive aspects outnumber the negative or the poor performing features, your quotation of price can ideally be on a little higher side. The price quotation however, also depends on the count of years. Make sure your suggestion on the price range justifies the performance status as well as the years of usage.

You may attempt to promote your used car through a dealer. Advertising your car online through trusted and authentic websites is also a smart option. Spreading the message through words of mouth also acts well many a times. Advertise your car through as much possible medium for quick and random responses.

After walking the path of all these promotional ways, once you are in terms with a prospective buyers, be convincing yet diplomatic enough. In the middle of everything you must not take your customer’s knowledge for granted either. Generally, people attempting to buy a car, are well equipped with the required knowledge and a know-about of the car’s database. There should not be any fake commitments and exaggerated information from your end. The negotiations and settlements should be done at the mutual interest of the buyers and the sellers. Well, as they say, its always Survival of the Fittest. You ought to pave your way out to a satisfying selling budget by using the best of your persuading skills.

Shriram Automall India Limited assists in deciding the best of vehicles, depending upon our concerns. SAMIL puts forth the most professional bidding platforms for buying and selling of  used cars India and vehicles.

Will You Like the Upcoming Hyundai’s Compact SUV to Look Like This?

This is the segment where every car manufacturer wants to focus on. The latest being Hyundai Motors India Ltd. which is expected to bring their unnamed gladiator to the fight against the very successful Duster and EcoSport.
This Hyundai’s SUV has been previously seen undergoing testing in Korea as well as in China and is expected to be Ford EcoSport’s biggest rival here in India when it finally arrives sometime in 2014.
new-honda-suv
The SUV is expected to share many of the Sante Fe’s styling cues such as the hexagonal front grille and similar profiles. It will probably borrow heavily from the concept car displayed at the 2011 Detroit Expo. Neither is a bad thing as we feel both are smart-looking cars.

What is Private Treaty Sale?

Private Treaty is a platform that facilitates negotiated deals, whereby bulk assets of high value are offered for sale onto the global market. The process originates through discussion and negotiation between the buyer and the seller. A selling and pricing strategy of the assets is decided upon at the mutual interests and the final approval is processed to an individual sale agreement contracts with the buyers.

The scope of the platform is quite challenging since this is quite a long-term selling process. Moreover, the count of sellers and buyers who would be indulging into such a transaction is very limited in the market. Each sale contract is unique and is carried out by our dedicated specialized Private Treaty team. Each member of the team is highly knowledgeable in the concerned field of business and hence the appropriate assistants for both the buyers and the sellers of a Private treaty.

Business transaction of bulk assets includes a lot of apprehensions, inspections and speculations. The longer selling period allows proper judgment of all these core concerns, and an according execution to best suit the purpose and requirements of both the buyers and the sellers.

Shriram Automall India Limited (SAMIL) offers a very efficient and authentic private treaty platform to the clients.
